Where to Find Beer in the Germany Pavilion at Disney’s Epcot
It’s that time of year where we all pretend, we have deep roots in German heritage. Suddenly we find ourselves ordering a Märzen style lager instead of a hazy IPA, or a sour. Very carefully we drink out of boot shaped glasses. Then we have the urge to wear clothing we can barely pronounce, and yell words in a language we do not know. It’s Oktoberfest season!!! Hoi, Hoi, Hoi! If you can’t make it to Munich then head over to the Germany Pavilion at Disney’s Epcot!
For any beer lover, this can be the most wonderful time of the year, and over at the Germany Pavilion at Disney’s Epcot, every day is Oktoberfest! Germany is probably one of the smaller countries at Epcot, however, I am pretty sure they have more spots you can buy beer than any other country there. Just when you think you found all the beer, you turn a corner and there’s more!
Where is the Beer?
Most of the time now, Epcot has a festival going on, which means even more beer options. Beers can change at any point without notice, however below are the options you will generally find year-round, and where to find them.

When a lot of people hear Disney, they instantly think ‘long lines.’ Well with six different spots selling beer (7-8 during festivals), if one beer line is too long just go to the next one. Problem solved.
Lederhosen, Cowbells & Mickey
I highly recommend walking through all of Germany. It is very beautifully decorated, and there are not too many other places where you can buy lederhosen, a cowbell, a Tervis that looks like a beer, a crystal tiara, and a sweater with a built in koozie. I haven’t seen the sweater there in a while, but it is one of my proudest purchases, and actually practical. I have used it while hiking. You can also have your name engraved on a glass beer boot with Mickey on it. All the stores are air conditioned. This may not sound like much, but depending on when you visit, it could be everything.
One of the perks of walking around is also talking with the Cast Members. These are not random central Florida residents (not that there is anything wrong with us), they’re actually from Germany. If you have a question about Germany or German beer, feel free to ask! They’re happy to talk with you and answer any questions you have, or they just know Mickey is watching. Either way you’re learning and having fun!
Beirgarten Restaurant in the Germany Pavilion
I have not yet eaten at every restaurant at Epcot (I’m working on it), but I have been to a lot of them, and the Biergarten Restaurant in Germany is my absolute favorite. It’s an all you can eat buffet, with live German music, dancing, big ass beers and cowbell playing. You can never have enough cowbell (this joke was as inevitable as Thanos, I apologize). They take advanced reservations, but you can often get a last-minute reservation right on your phone through the Disney app, or even just walk up.
During Epcot’s Festivals, there are often dining packages offered to guarantee seating for whatever performance is going on that evening. For more information you can call (407) 939-5277, or visit https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/epcot/biergarten-restaurant/
Festivals in the Germany Pavilion
On one side of Germany is a mini German village with trains running all through it (if you pay close attention you can find beer bottles, barrels, and even a brewery). On the other side is where you find the festival extras. While entertainment shows up year round, the type of entertainment can vary during each festival. From yodeling, to the chicken dance, to learning about the story of the Nutcracker. Nothing says Christmas at Disney like a person dressed up in a big ass terrifying Nutcracker costume.
Reinheitsgebot – German Purity Law
To sum up, you definitely cannot ‘Drink Around the World (DATW)’ without having a German beer in Germany. While breweries are throwing all sorts of things in beer today, and creating some amazing new beers, there is still something to be said about the German Purity Law, Reinheitsgebot. Beer made with only water, hops, malt and yeast. It seems so simple, yet so perfect.
So on your next trip around the world at Epcot, make sure to take the time, and properly tour the Germany Pavilion with a beer in hand that has been brewed following the Reinheitsgebot tradition (this law is no longer in effect, but is still followed by many German brewers). On that note, mind your pints and quarts, put on your lederhosen and dirndls, and enjoy! Prost!
